Chapter 890: The Dying Person
Yi Feng carried his fish basket leisurely as he made his way to the meeting point.
As he walked, his hand began to feel sore.
He switched hands, but after a short distance, it still felt sore.
"Alright, let's do a good deed," Yi Feng thought.
He turned the fish basket upside down and poured out all the fish inside, leaving only two.
With the basket now empty, it felt much lighter to carry.
Not long after, Yi Feng arrived at the meeting spot.
There, Piaomiao Hong and Luo Chen were already waiting.
"Sir," Piaomiao Hong greeted with a bow.
"Oh, you two came up empty-handed too," Yi Feng said, glancing at their empty hands and smirking.
"Sir, you jest. We were just here to try our luck. With only half a month, we didn't have much hope anyway," Piaomiao Hong replied with a smile.
"You two are really patient," Yi Feng said, rolling his eyes. If he had gone fishing for half a month and caught nothing, he would have probably blown up the lake. Yet, they remained so calm. Truly admirable.
"Here," Yi Feng said, holding out his fish basket. "They might not be the best fish, but take them anyway. At least you can have a taste."
"Sir, you caught fish? And two of them?" Piaomiao Hong exclaimed in surprise, never expecting Yi Feng to have any success in such a short time.
"What's the big deal about catching two fish?" Yi Feng said, rolling his eyes again. "I've eaten several baskets of fish in the past half month. When I left, I still had a full basket, but I thought it was too heavy, so I threw it away."
Piaomiao Hong and Luo Chen exchanged glances, stunned by his words.
He ate several baskets and even threw one away? Was he serious?
Luo Chen even suspected Yi Feng was exaggerating.
Even Piaomiao Hong was somewhat skeptical.
The fish in Yun Lake were not ordinary. Each one was full of spirit. Catching them wasn't about skill but about luck, fate, and the right timing...
However, the sound of splashing water from the lake snapped them out of their thoughts.
Yi Feng had placed the fish basket on the ground and was now carefully squatting by the shore to wash his hands.
As he washed his hands, a fish suddenly leaped into his grasp.
"See? It's just a fish. It practically jumped into my hands while I was washing them. No big deal," Yi Feng said with a chuckle, clearly amused.
He was also surprised. The fish seemed almost foolish, swimming right into his hands.
But having eaten so much fish recently, the sight of it made him feel a bit queasy, so he casually released the silly fish back into the water.
Yi Feng's casual remark made Piaomiao Hong and Luo Chen's faces twitch.
Even in an ordinary lake with ordinary fish, this would be a rare occurrence, let alone in Yun Lake.
While others couldn't catch a single fish, Yi Feng managed to grab one just by washing his hands. It was almost infuriating.
But it also showed that Yi Feng was not only powerful but also blessed with great fortune.
The two took a deep breath and exchanged a glance.
They both understood the same thing.
In the future, Yi Feng might very well have a place among the saints.
"Why are you two just standing there? Take the fish," Yi Feng said, walking back to them after washing his hands. Seeing the fish basket still on the ground, he couldn't help but urge them.
"Sir Yi, we can't accept such a gift without merit. It wouldn't be right for us to take your fish. Please keep them for yourself," Piaomiao Hong politely declined.
It wasn't that she didn't want the fish. Anything from Yun Lake was extraordinary, and she felt it would be inappropriate to accept.
"What would I do with them?" Yi Feng said, rolling his eyes. "I just threw one away earlier."
"Ah!" Piaomiao Hong was momentarily stunned.
She then realized that while the fish might be precious to others, to Yi Feng, they didn't seem to hold much value.
"Alright, then I'll accept them with gratitude," Piaomiao Hong said with a slight bow, picking up the fish basket.
As she did, she couldn't help but glance inside.
What she saw made her tremble.
Her beautiful eyes widened, and her face filled with disbelief and shock.
"Miss, what's wrong?" Luo Chen, noticing Piaomiao Hong's stunned expression, also looked into the basket.
"Ah!" A sharp scream erupted from Luo Chen, causing ripples in the surrounding lake water.
"Dragon fish! It's actually dragon fish!" Luo Chen exclaimed excitedly, but then quickly covered his mouth, glancing around nervously before clutching the basket tightly.
"Dragon fish, Miss! It's dragon fish!" he whispered urgently to Piaomiao Hong, still unable to contain his excitement.
Piaomiao Hong's breathing quickened. Of course, she knew what dragon fish were.
But she still couldn't believe it.
Now, she was holding two dragon fish in her hands...
"Oh, so these are the legendary dragon fish you were talking about?" Yi Feng, hearing Luo Chen's exclamation, turned back.
He looked somewhat surprised.
He hadn't realized that the fish he caught were dragon fish.
He was really something, wasn't he?
"Sir Yi, these are too valuable. I can't accept them," Piaomiao Hong said, regaining her composure. She took the basket from Luo Chen and handed it back to Yi Feng.
"Hmm..." Yi Feng looked at the basket, scratching his nose.
Although he had heard that dragon fish were extraordinary and could enhance one's cultivation, Yi Feng didn't feel the need for them.
After all, he was a dying man.
Besides, he didn't want to increase his cultivation. In fact, he wished he could decrease it.
"It's fine, you can have them," Yi Feng said with a wave, generously offering them.
"Sir Yi, how can I ever repay you for such a precious gift?" Piaomiao Hong asked anxiously.
"No need to repay me. Just help me figure out how to die quickly," Yi Feng said nonchalantly.
Seeing Yi Feng's firm stance, Piaomiao Hong nodded and gratefully accepted the two dragon fish.
However, her expression, aside from joy, also carried a hint of complexity.
"If only I had obtained the dragon fish earlier, but now it's too late for me," Piaomiao Hong murmured softly, then handed the basket to Luo Chen. "Take good care of the dragon fish. Later, deliver them to the Sword Valley."
"Miss, are the dragon fish really of no use to you anymore?" Luo Chen asked anxiously, his eyes reddening.
"Yes," Piaomiao Hong nodded, her face filled with bitterness.
"Huh? What's going on with you two?" Yi Feng, noticing Luo Chen's teary eyes, couldn't help but ask. "Shouldn't you be happy about such amazing fish? Why does it feel so somber all of a sudden?"
"Sigh," Piaomiao Hong sighed. "Sir Yi, to be honest, I am already a dying person."
"Of course, since you've gifted me the dragon fish and are willing to protect me, I will do my best to help you fulfill your wishes in my remaining time!"
