Chapter 1565: Returning To The Past

0 views 13.03.2025

In the endless expanse of the starry sky.

A streak of light, like a comet, shot into the depths of the universe.

Yi Feng stood with his hands behind his back, quietly watching it all, a faint smile on his face.

The four companions—Dog, Centipede, Black Bear, and Spirit King—remained by Yi Feng's side.

Seeing the reluctance on Dog and Centipede's faces, Yi Feng chuckled, "If you wish to go after him, then go."

"Thank you, Master!" Dog and Centipede's eyes lit up with excitement.

With that, Dog and Centipede transformed into streaks of light, speeding off in the direction of the earlier comet.

"Master, what about us?" Black Bear and Spirit King asked in unison.

Yi Feng smiled faintly. "Black Bear, your bloodline is special. You are the beast companion left behind by the Eternal Calamity Supreme. He left you some inheritance. You must return with me to receive it."

"As you command, Master," Black Bear replied respectfully.

"As for you…" Yi Feng turned to Spirit King.

"You are also a general left behind by the Eternal Calamity Supreme. Now that you are only a soul, I could easily find you a new body, but it wouldn't truly be your own."

"For the sake of your future and achievements, you should return with me and re-enter the cycle of reincarnation in my world."

"As you command, Master," Spirit King replied respectfully.

Several days passed.

After settling all matters, Yi Feng finally found peace of mind.

He returned to the ruins of the small mountain village from his past, standing at the entrance of the old courtyard, gazing into the distance, waiting for his beloved.

Time flowed like water, days passed like fleeting shadows.

The sun rose and set, day after day.

Yi Feng was in no hurry.

He went to a nearby village at the foot of the mountain and cleared a piece of land.

Over many days and with great effort, he built a small courtyard with blue tiles and white walls, just as he remembered it.

The tables, chairs, beds, and even the cups and utensils in the courtyard were all crafted by Yi Feng himself.

Behind the courtyard, he also cultivated a small field.

He planted many vegetables and fruits, all varieties that Bai Piaopiao loved.

These tasks kept Yi Feng occupied, easing the anxiety of waiting and making up for the debt he felt toward Bai Piaopiao.

He channeled his longing into action, wanting his beloved to feel the warmth of home and return to the happy life they once shared when she returned.

It was an ordinary day, no different from the ones before.

Yi Feng was brewing wine in the courtyard when he suddenly felt a stirring in his heart.

He looked up.

A woman of extraordinary grace walked slowly toward the courtyard.

Their eyes met, and though a thousand words seemed to hang between them, all they could do was tear up.

Yi Feng rushed out of the courtyard, running toward the one he had longed for.

Bai Piaopiao seemed dazed, staring at Yi Feng as if unsure whether this was a dream or reality. She stood frozen, overwhelmed by the shock and joy.

Before she could react, Yi Feng was already in front of her, pulling her into his arms.

Bai Piaopiao was stunned for a moment, but as she felt Yi Feng's warmth and gentle embrace, she finally came back to herself.

"Husband…" she whispered, her voice trembling.

As those words left her lips, Bai Piaopiao felt her heart clench, her nose tingled, and tears began to flow uncontrollably.

Her vision blurred, and she could no longer speak.

Yi Feng held his beloved tightly.

Feeling the complex emotions within her, Yi Feng's heart ached.

"I've missed you so much, Piaopiao," he said softly. "You've suffered and worried for so long. I will make it up to you."

Bai Piaopiao sobbed and trembled in Yi Feng's arms, like a wounded bird unsure of what to do.

As Yi Feng's only wife and partner, Bai Piaopiao shared an intricate bond with him.

In the past, to prevent the Crimson Moon Supreme from using karma to spy on Yi Feng as he refined the world, almost everyone close to Yi Feng had re-entered the cycle of reincarnation.

This was done to confuse the Crimson Moon Supreme and hide Yi Feng's identity and past connections.

Now that the Crimson Moon Supreme had been erased by Yi Feng, Bai Piaopiao had awakened through the virtual space, and they could finally reunite.

"It's alright," Yi Feng said gently. "From now on, we can be together every day."

Bai Piaopiao nodded, holding Yi Feng tightly.

She had so much to say—about her suffering, about the longing that even reincarnation couldn't erase, about the joy of returning.

But in the end, all she could do was hold him tightly.

Yi Feng gently stroked her back, soothing her until she gradually calmed down.

He whispered in her ear about how much he had missed her, about the portraits he had painted of her, the clay figures he had made.

He kissed her forehead tenderly, brushing away the tears on her delicate cheeks, kissing her flushed face and soft lips.

The fragrance of orchids intoxicated Yi Feng, and the feeling of having her back filled him with immense satisfaction.

They held each other, feeling the familiar yet unfamiliar presence, the warmth and breath of the other.

At that moment.

The sun no longer felt scorching, the wind no longer felt noisy, and the birds no longer felt bothersome.

Everything seemed unchanged, yet it felt more beautiful than ever.

Time passed slowly.

Life in the courtyard was peaceful and beautiful.

Under Bai Piaopiao's care, the courtyard became a lush garden, vibrant and serene.

While weeding the flower beds, Bai Piaopiao instructed, "Husband, could you pick some magnolias for me? Remember to keep the leaves and branches."

"Of course. Anything else, my dear?"

Bai Piaopiao thought for a moment and said, "Also, fetch some mountain spring water. I'll brew tea for you this afternoon."

"Consider it done!"

Yi Feng smiled warmly.

Seeing his expression, Bai Piaopiao couldn't help but chuckle.

In the afternoon.

Bai Piaopiao lit charcoal to boil water, washed the tea set, and brewed tea for Yi Feng.

The tea leaves were ones she had roasted herself, blended with flowers and herbs, giving off a pleasant aroma and a sweet taste.

Yi Feng savored the tea brewed by his beloved wife, looking completely at ease.

Bored, Bai Piaopiao said, "Husband, I was thinking of building a school nearby, like before, to teach the village children how to read and write. What do you think?"

"Of course. I'll clear a plot of land later and help you build the school."

The two had plenty of time on their hands.

Yi Feng knew Bai Piaopiao couldn't sit idle and loved children, so he naturally supported her interests.

"Good. You can teach the kids martial arts, so they can excel in both academics and physical skills."

"Whatever you say."

Bai Piaopiao nodded in satisfaction, her smile blooming like a flower.

In the days that followed, their lives were peaceful and fulfilling.

Sometimes they planted flowers together, other times they taught children…

Life seemed to return to how it once was.

Simple yet sweet, tranquil yet steady.
