Chapter 1560: Shadow Island, The Best!
As the sun set in the west.
High above in the sky.
The crescent moon, like a silver hook, had quietly risen above the fiery clouds.
Countless rays of twilight spilled across the lake, casting golden hues upon its surface.
A gentle breeze stirred, creating ripples across the water.
A few egrets floated leisurely on the lake, occasionally letting out soft cries.
On the treetops, several small birds hopped about, chirping incessantly.
Clusters of blooming flowers painted a vibrant scene, resembling a hyper-realistic oil painting.
By the man-made lake outside the city, dozens of elderly men and women danced joyfully to a rhythmic beat.
On the other side, many tables were set up, with Yi Feng seated at the central one.
In front of each person was a large jar of wine, and various delicacies were being served.
Within ten minutes, the tables were already piled high with an array of delicious dishes.
At their feet, empty wine jars lay scattered across the grass.
Glasses clinked, and cups were passed around as everyone enjoyed themselves.
In less than half an hour, the alcohol had gone to everyone's heads.
All were flushed and in high spirits.
Lu Qingshan, staggering with unsteady steps and hiccuping, made his way to Lu Dasheng's side.
He slapped Lu Dasheng on the shoulder and laughed heartily, "Hahaha, do you all know about Old Lu's embarrassing past?"
"No, tell us!"
Everyone chimed in, eager for the gossip.
"He, relying on his so-called alchemist status, came to our Qingshan Sect to show off, acting all high and mighty. Guess who he tried to impress first?"
"Who?"
"Old Lu, just spit it out!"
"Yeah, stop teasing us."
Lu Qingshan smirked, "I love seeing you all so eager."
"Stop, Old Lu, don't expose me!" Lu Dasheng quickly tried to stop him.
Lu Qingshan pushed Lu Dasheng's hand away, "No, I'm going to say it."
"Lu Dasheng's first attempt at showing off ended up with him running into Lord Skull. That was like hitting a steel plate."
Lu Dasheng stood up, trying to cover Lu Qingshan's mouth.
But Lu Qingshan's quick steps kept him out of reach.
As he ran, he recounted the events of that day.
"You have no idea, Lord Skull stripped Old Lu bare, and then Old Lu knelt on the spot, slapping himself repeatedly."
"At the time, I thought something terrible had happened to Old Lu, like some family tragedy."
"Lu Qingshan, shut your mouth!"
Lu Qingshan's story left Lu Dasheng red-faced, while everyone else burst into laughter.
Yi Feng also laughed heartily.
At that time, he had been in the midst of awakening, so he wasn't aware of many things.
It was all the doing of Lord Skull and his crew.
As everyone began to reveal old stories and reminisce about the past, Yi Feng listened with great interest.
Even though many of the stories were repeated, Yi Feng never tired of hearing them.
Then, Wu Yonghong stood up and raised his cup.
"I'll drink first, to our master and to all our old friends."
With that, he downed his drink in one go.
"Ha! Old Lu's life has been quite the legend. Back when we first started working for the master, we were all planting rice, weeding, and plowing fields."
"But Old Lu? He insisted on carrying manure, refusing to let anyone else take his job, and he did it with such enthusiasm."
Old Man Wang, leaning on his cane, stood up and added, "I lent him the manure bucket back then, and he never returned it. Lu Dasheng, you owe me a bucket!"
Old Man Wang had forgotten about it until Wu Yonghong brought it up.
"I have plenty of manure buckets, I'll give you a hundred tomorrow!"
Everyone burst into laughter again, leaving Lu Dasheng's face red.
"What's so funny? Carrying manure is an art. Can any of you do it?"
As the target of the night's jokes, Lu Dasheng fought back.
If the master weren't here, he would have unleashed his "Flying Manure Dance" to shut them all up.
Just then, a crowd of a hundred people, led by Zhong Qing, approached.
"Greetings, Master."
"Greetings, Master!"
The hundred disciples were thrilled to see Yi Feng again, their faces glowing with excitement.
Yi Feng nodded, looking at his beloved disciples with a warm smile.
"It's good to have you back. Find a seat."
The elderly men and women at the tables stood up and bowed respectfully to the newcomers.
"Welcome back, esteemed ones!"
"You've finally returned. Let's add more seats."
"Prepare more wine, to welcome our honored guests."
"In front of the master, there's no need for such formalities. You are all heroes who defended Shadow Island," Zhong Qing said with a smile.
The other disciples echoed his sentiments.
"We also owe thanks to all of you. Shadow Island has been rebuilt beautifully."
"Indeed, after traveling to so many planets, I still think Shadow Island is the best!"
Five more large round tables were set up, each capable of seating twenty people.
Lu Qingshan, Wu Yonghong, Lu Dasheng, and the others quickly brought over more wine, ensuring each disciple had a jar.
Seeing the eager old men, the disciples felt a pang of sadness.
Zhong Qing stood up, filled with guilt. "We were useless in the fight against the Red Moon. While we were still awakening, the master had already destroyed it..."
"Yes, it's our fault for not training hard enough. We must apologize to the master and to everyone on Shadow Island," Su Yunyun added, standing up.
Chi Yitong also stood up, shouting, "We're sorry, Master. We've failed your teachings..."
Yi Feng shook his head with a bitter smile, gesturing for them to sit down.
He spoke softly, "How are you useless? Ten thousand years ago, in that battle, you faced the Red Moon's avatar and were sent into reincarnation. If it weren't for your sacrifice, how could I have so easily resolved the crisis?"
"Don't belittle yourselves. Everything is in the past now. You are all my good disciples."
Yi Feng spoke with utmost sincerity.
While the defeat of the Red Moon seemed effortless, it was the result of meticulous planning at every step.
It was because of every detail that they were able to so easily vanquish the Red Sun and bring about today's peace.
Hearing this, warmth filled their hearts.
The master was as approachable as ever.
Yi Feng's words, though simple, quietly erased the guilt they had been carrying.
"Thank you, Master!"
"Long live the Master!"
"Master, you look so handsome today!"
Yi Feng smiled faintly, looking at his disciples with affection.
His gaze shifted, landing on Wu Tian, who was sitting next to Hong Fengkuang.
"Little Chicken."
Wu Tian jumped up as if struck by lightning.
"Little Chicken is here!"
He stepped out from the table, bowed, and hurried over to Yi Feng, looking at him nervously.
