Chapter 1524: Farewell For Now

2 views 13.03.2025

The three brothers assumed their attacking stances, ready to strike at any moment.

Yi Feng, in a fit of desperation, shouted, "Wait! Hold on! I have another idea!"

The brothers thought it was just a delaying tactic.

"Boss, farewell for now! Brothers, let's do this!" the black-clad man barked.

"Stop! Hold it! There's a world within my consciousness. Though it lacks life, we're at a dead end anyway. Let's take a gamble. Try entering my world—it might just work!" Yi Feng pleaded urgently.

"If it works, you'll be out of this formation and inside my world, breaking the formation. If it doesn't, you go ahead, and I'll join you after I kill that bastard!"

The brothers were aware of Yi Feng's consciousness space.

They exchanged glances, hesitating as they halted their attacks.

"If we're going to die anyway, why not try entering Boss's consciousness world?" the toad suggested.

After a moment of contemplation, the black-clad man and the snail nodded in agreement.

"Alright, let's listen to the Boss and take this gamble!" the black-clad man declared.

"I agree," the snail said succinctly.

"Good! Let's give it a shot. First, release my seal," Yi Feng said eagerly.

The brothers exchanged glances and shook their heads.

"Boss, if this works, we'll release your seal," the black-clad man said.

The toad and the snail also nodded, unwilling to release Yi Feng's seal. They feared he might break free and become uncontrollable.

Yi Feng was frustrated but understood their resolve. Entering his world was a bold move, and he had never tried integrating other lives into it before. He couldn't predict what might happen—it could even result in the death of both the entrants and himself.

But with no other options, this was their only hope.

"Who's going first?"

The toad volunteered, "Let me!"

The snail and the black-clad man were eager, but the toad stopped them.

"You two hold off the attacks. I'm nearly spent—let me try!"

The toad stepped forward. Over the years, the brothers had become familiar with Yi Feng's world and its risks. The toad didn't want the others to bear the danger, even though they were all in dire straits.

Yi Feng and the toad exchanged a glance. Without words, they acted in unison.

The process wasn't complicated. Before the snail and the black-clad man could react, Yi Feng pulled the toad into his consciousness space.

The snail and the black-clad man watched anxiously, their expressions tense.

The toad felt a powerful force pulling him. With a whoosh, he entered Yi Feng's consciousness space.

Inside, the toad looked around. Aside from a well and an old locust tree, the place was desolate.

Suddenly, a surge of rule-based energy struck, pushing the toad out. He couldn't resist and was expelled from Yi Feng's space.

"It didn't work! The rules of Boss's space rejected me!" the toad cried out in panic.

The brothers' faces darkened. Though there was no immediate danger, the plan seemed unfeasible.

"Let me try!" the black-clad man said, determined.

Without hesitation, Yi Feng pulled him into the space. But the attempt failed again.

Next, the snail tried, but he too was unable to stay in Yi Feng's consciousness space.

Repeated failures left Yi Feng disheartened.

"Boss, we can't enter your consciousness space. It seems you'll have to avenge us. We'll go ahead," the black-clad man said, forcing a smile.

Yi Feng roared, "No! Don't give up! There must be another way. Let's keep trying!"

"Boss, stop struggling. If you leave now, you might still have some strength left. The Lord of the Desolate Hall is waiting outside," the black-clad man sighed.

"That's right, Boss. We understand your feelings, and we hope you understand ours," the snail said somberly.

"No! Listen to me! Let's try again. Don't give up!" Yi Feng screamed, frantically trying to break free from his seal.

At that moment, the toad furrowed his brow, as if struck by an idea.

"Boss, your space has no life, but the well and the locust tree are exceptions. Have you ever wondered why?"

Yi Feng paused, intrigued. He didn't know what the toad was getting at, but he wanted to keep his brothers from giving up.

The toad spoke gravely, "Boss, have you considered why the locust tree and the well can exist in your space, retaining life without being rejected by its rules?"

Yi Feng pondered for a moment, then his eyes lit up with realization.

He understood what the toad was implying.

In this critical moment, the toad didn't beat around the bush. "If I'm not mistaken, the locust tree and the well recognized you as their master when you obtained them, right?"

Yi Feng nodded. "That's true."

But then he realized what the toad was suggesting and immediately refused. "No! You're my brothers!"

The black-clad man and the snail also grasped the idea. To enter Yi Feng's consciousness world, they would have to form a master-servant bond with him.

"Boss, at this point, if you refuse, we'll all die," the snail said heavily.

"Yeah, as long as we're together, the nature of our relationship doesn't matter," the toad added.

"No! We're equals, brothers who share life and death. I can't let you become my servants!" Yi Feng firmly rejected.

The black-clad man, struggling to maintain the protective barrier, said hoarsely, "Boss, this isn't the time to worry about titles. If we survive, we can figure it out later. Don't hesitate!"

Yi Feng saw the black-clad man trembling, the toad and the snail barely holding on. After a fierce internal struggle, he finally nodded, his eyes red with emotion.
