Chapter 1512: Its Great To Have Brothers
Hearing this familiar voice, Yi Feng thought to himself, "As expected."
Just moments ago, he had been wondering how there could be so many shameless people in the world.
At the same time, he lowered his head and turned slightly, speaking gently, "I promised before that I would introduce you to my brother. Now, it's finally time to meet him!"
After saying this, he raised his head slightly and looked at the approaching figure.
The black-clad man, who had been walking through the air, was about to continue his tirade when his eyes met Yi Feng's.
He paused for a moment.
Without another word, he swung his sword at Yi Feng.
Yi Feng smiled faintly, drawing his own sword. A flash of cold light appeared in mid-air.
"Clang!"
A melodious sound of clashing swords rang out. Both men retracted their swords at the same time, their eyes locked.
"I knew you wouldn't die," the black-clad youth said hoarsely.
After ten thousand years, the reunion of the two brothers was not filled with many words, nor was there much small talk. There wasn't even an embrace—just this simple sentence.
Yet, it contained so much...
Yi Feng, however, felt a pang of guilt. He wasn't in the right frame of mind.
When he had emerged from the Void Sword Tomb, he should have come to find them.
"Don't start with your nonsense. I don't want to hear it."
To his surprise, the black-clad man waved his hand dismissively, cutting off the words Yi Feng had been carefully preparing.
"Whatever you have to say, let's go back and drink first."
Yi Feng felt grateful, and all the words he had wanted to say condensed into one sentence: "Alright, let's drink!"
The two brothers flew one after the other toward the inner city.
Before long, a massive, castle-like structure, resplendent and golden, came into Yi Feng's view.
The building was entirely golden, crafted with gilded materials.
It was ostentatious and luxurious, almost blindingly so.
As soon as they landed, dozens of scantily clad women rushed forward, surrounding the black-clad youth.
"Husband."
"Husband, you're back."
"I missed you so much."
"Hahaha, call him big brother," the black-clad youth said, spreading his arms and casually embracing two of the women. He swaggered toward the grand hall, pointing at Yi Feng behind him and shouting to the crowd.
"Greetings, Big Brother."
The women quickly turned to Yi Feng, bowing respectfully.
"Alright, alright..."
Yi Feng awkwardly greeted them, then hurried to catch up with the black-clad man.
When brothers reunite, only food and drink can truly express their feelings.
Inside the luxurious hall, the table was laden with a feast fit for an emperor. The two brothers sat close together.
Below them, twenty women played music and danced.
"Keep playing, keep dancing, don't stop," the black-clad man shouted to the women after sharing a drink with Yi Feng.
"This guy, still the same as ever..."
Yi Feng couldn't help but shake his head and smile.
Still, seeing him live so happily and joyfully, Yi Feng genuinely felt happy for him.
After all, in the vast world of cultivation, there were few who could remain as "pure" and "true to their roots" as he was.
But then, Yi Feng thought of something, and the wine cup he had just raised was set back down.
"I haven't seen those two guys for a while. Their lifespans..."
Yi Feng trailed off, his gaze filled with tension as he looked at the black-clad man.
Ten thousand years could change many things. Even dynasties could rise and fall in that time, so not everyone could survive such a long span.
Thus, Yi Feng was worried about whether he would ever see them again.
"You shouldn't worry about them," the black-clad man said, rolling his eyes at Yi Feng. "They're the last ones you should worry about. Even though one's a toad and the other's a stinky snail, their cultivation is almost on par with mine, as if they've been taking some kind of elixir."
Before Yi Feng could express his surprise, as if summoned by their conversation, a toad walked in, standing upright and swaggering. It wore a red ribbon on its head and a pair of goggles, looking as flamboyant as could be.
Beside the toad was a snail that looked half-dead.
"Big Brother!"
The toad leaped toward Yi Feng the moment it saw him, giving him a bear hug.
Though he was nearly suffocated by the hug, Yi Feng felt genuine excitement at seeing these two.
Finally, the four brothers were reunited!
"Get out! All of you, out!"
The black-clad man waved his hand, dismissing the women. It was time for the brothers to be alone.
"It's been over ten thousand years since you last came to see us. Here, drink this first."
The black-clad man brought over two large jars of wine and placed them in front of Yi Feng.
"Alright."
Without hesitation, Yi Feng tilted his head back and started drinking.
He didn't need to guess to know that over the years, his brothers must have been deeply concerned about his fate.
If he had really wanted to find time to visit them, he could have made it happen.
So, this wine...
He deserved to drink it.
He also understood that his brothers could see his guilt, but they chose not to mention it, giving him the understanding he needed.
His heart was deeply moved.
But between brothers, words of gratitude didn't need to be spoken aloud. They were felt in the heart.
After downing two jars of wine, Yi Feng didn't use his cultivation to dispel the effects. His face turned slightly red, and he seemed a bit tipsy.
"Hahahaha!"
The brothers burst into laughter, their faces filled with mockery. "After ten thousand years, you're still no match for us!"
Hearing this, Yi Feng's competitive spirit flared up.
He grabbed another jar of wine. "Alright, I'll go first. You guys follow."
After finishing another jar, Yi Feng grabbed the toad and shoved two more jars at him. "You were laughing the loudest earlier. Come on, drink with me."
"You think I'm scared?"
The toad wasn't about to back down. It propped one leg on the stool and started drinking from the jar.
The hall was filled with the smell of alcohol.
Laughter, mockery, and curses echoed throughout...
The sound of wine jars shattering on the ground was constant, and the shards piled up into a small mountain.
Before they knew it, the brothers were all seven or eight parts drunk.
The toad, taking small, unsteady steps, held a wine jar and was bragging about his romantic escapades over the past ten thousand years.
Beside him, the snail lay on the table, vomiting while simultaneously debunking the toad's stories.
"Big Brother, I'm not exaggerating, and it's not just because I'm drunk..." Meanwhile, the black-clad man clung to Yi Feng, rambling on and on.
Time seemed to stretch on endlessly...
Eventually, the hall grew quieter.
The snail had passed out on the table, its eyes spinning.
The toad lay on its back, its belly swollen.
The black-clad man was under the table, hugging Yi Feng's leg.
Only Yi Feng remained seated, raising his cup and clinking it against an empty one beside him.
"Big Brother."
"Hmm?"
"Is that... Sister-in-law?"
"Yes..."
"Tell us about your adventures over the years."
"Alright."
Yi Feng's voice was calm as he began to speak.
He started with his entry into the Void Sword Tomb, then being rescued in a small village, where he met Miss Bai.
Later, he infiltrated the Eastern Spirit Empire as a spy, only to be discovered.
He recounted every detail, leaving nothing out.
The brothers listened quietly.
When the story grew tense, they were on edge.
When Miss Bai was mentioned, they fell silent, filled with emotion.
And when Yi Feng spoke of being imprisoned underground for ten thousand years, cut off from the world, they were furious, regretting that they hadn't known where he was.
From dawn to dusk, and from dusk to dawn, Yi Feng spoke.
When he finally finished, the brothers raised their cups together.
"To us, brothers, and to welcoming Sister-in-law to Warm Wine City for the first time."
After the toast, the toad grinned and raised his cup to Miss Bai, who stood behind Yi Feng.
The black-clad man did the same, and the snail wasn't about to be left out.
Yi Feng, however, was left to drink alone, tears streaming down his face.
This was the first time he had cried since escaping his imprisonment in the Eastern Spirit Empire.
Perhaps true heartbreak, when it reaches its peak, is silent. Only at certain moments does it finally spill over.
It's great to have brothers!
