Chapter 1382: That Damn Thing
Shadow Island.
A bustling, modern-style vegetable market was filled with a constant flow of people.
Among all the vendors in the market, the one with the best business was undoubtedly Pork Rong, who occupied the prime spot in the golden triangle of stalls.
Wielding his nimble cleaver, he weighed out two pounds of ribs for Third Aunt Li, who had come to shop.
As he handed her the ribs, he couldn’t resist using his other hand to stroke his sexy stubble, taking the opportunity to cop a feel while throwing her a flirtatious glance.
“You devil,” Third Aunt Li scolded, though her voice was filled with coquettishness. She raised the corner of her lips, showing off the sexy red mole by her mouth, and said, “Don’t forget to come to my place tonight.”
With that, Third Aunt Li swayed her barrel-like waist and leisurely walked away, carrying the two pounds of ribs.
Pork Rong stared at her perfect, barrel-shaped waist, his mind wandering.
But just then, he couldn’t help but sneeze over a dozen times in a row.
Though it seemed like an ordinary sneeze, Pork Rong’s pupils suddenly contracted.
His gaze turned profound, as if he could see through the clouds and into the distant stars.
Yet, his frown deepened.
His rugged face and brows were now filled with seriousness. He raised his finger, and an aura of unfathomable mystery suddenly emanated from him.
Then, he muttered gravely, “Who is looking for me?”
“But I can’t detect even a trace of them?”
“Such a powerful figure—are they friend or foe?”
As he spoke, his expression grew even more solemn. He couldn’t help but bite his fingertip and began calculating again.
But this time, his calculations still yielded no results.
After a long while of fruitless effort, he simply picked up his cleaver and continued chopping the pork belly.
“Whether they’re friend or foe, and no matter which idiot is looking for me, it’s not like they can cause any trouble on Shadow Island.”
Pieces of pork belly flew across the cutting board.
Pork Rong had completely regained his composure, as if nothing had happened at all.
...
Elsewhere on Cloud Star.
Yi Feng arrived at a small tavern on the second floor. Leaning by the window, he sipped his drink and watched the lively street below, filled with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A sense of belonging washed over him.
He wasn’t sure if it was because of the lively atmosphere.
Or perhaps it was because he had returned to Cloud Star.
“I really have no idea where to find this so-called Realm Lord,” he muttered to himself.
“All I can do is try my best and leave the rest to fate.”
“Besides, that thing blocking the planet seems to have been completely destroyed by me. Even if I can’t find this Realm Lord, it shouldn’t count as screwing anyone over, right?”
After downing a pot of wine, Yi Feng couldn’t help but sigh.
To be honest, he had been reflecting a lot lately.
His own strength still felt somewhat surreal to him.
He even found it hard to believe.
Where did this power of his come from?
Had he always had it, or did that damn system secretly give it to him later?
If he had always been this strong, then wasn’t he just a complete idiot before?
What puzzled him even more was that, even now, his fights still lacked any flashy effects. He had only mastered a few simple techniques.
At that moment.
A tiny version of the snail on the table caught his attention.
When he was rushing back to Cloud Star earlier, he had finally witnessed this little guy’s true speed.
Had it been pretending all along?
Just then, the snail’s harmless gaze turned toward him.
“Blurb blurb,” it made a sound, instantly igniting Yi Feng’s anger.
“You damn thing, still pretending, huh?” Yi Feng’s rage flared.
In his fury, Yi Feng’s hand came down like a hawk, slapping the snail flat.
But in the next moment, the snail bounced back to its original shape, as if it couldn’t be bothered with Yi Feng. It rolled its eyes at him, turned its head, and went back to sleep.
