Chapter 1364: Time Flies Like A Shuttle

2 views 13.03.2025

The old men finally felt at ease, having watched from afar for a long time without daring to make a sound, behaving with utmost obedience.

These two individuals were figures capable of influencing the world's structure. If there were any grievances between them, no one could predict what might happen. Discovering that they were old acquaintances was the best possible outcome.

As for the exact nature of their relationship and its origins, the old men didn't dare to speculate further.

After the initial pleasantries, Wu Tao, led by Sister Han, entered the bustling capital, giving them a glance that left them feeling overwhelmingly honored.

They had visited this underground world before, but opportunities to meet Sister Han were rare. Today, they were fortunate enough to follow her into the city. Even if it was just a minor perk, it was entirely thanks to Mr. Wu, and it was already a tremendous honor.

They hadn't walked far along the dazzling road when Wu Tao, guided by Mo Sihan, leisurely made his way toward the central tower of the city.

The entire route was lined with guards in suits, standing at attention and welcoming them with great pomp. Occasionally, Wu Tao's gaze swept over them, noticing the dense spiritual energy emanating from their bodies. It seemed Sister Han had been thriving on Blue Star, and he felt a faint sense of relief.

Standing beneath the crystal tower, Mo Sihan smiled softly and extended her hand toward Wu Tao, her red lips parting.

"This is the Second Young Master."

As her gentle voice fell, the guards lining the endless road knelt in unison.

"Welcome, Second Young Master!"

The synchronized movements of thousands of people, kneeling almost simultaneously, created an overwhelming aura that left the old men trailing behind in silent awe.

Wu Tao, however, remained calm.

Although these cultivators were far above the ordinary people of Blue Star, having long surpassed human limits, the imposing aura they exuded was not something an average person could face directly. Yet, to Wu Tao, such a display was nothing extraordinary—he was already accustomed to it.

Entering the tower and stepping into the elevator, the crystal lift ascended steadily, offering a panoramic view of the city's nightscape below. The experience of riding the elevator now was entirely different from when he had first arrived. The opulent decorations and the sweeping visual feast stirred something deep within him.

When the elevator reached the top floor of the crystal tower, Mo Sihan gracefully stepped forward, walking toward the dazzling crystal platform. Her stunning silhouette, illuminated by the night, was utterly captivating. Paired with the exquisite dishes laid out on the luxurious dining table, it was more than just a visual feast—it was like a dreamlike banquet.

Wu Tao followed with a natural smile, sitting at the table as comfortably as if he were at home.

Watching the two of them take their seats, the old men dared not act out of line. They stood on the crystal platform below, pretending not to see anything, and contented themselves with admiring the dazzling night view from afar.

Even so, they were more than satisfied.

As long as this visit didn't cause any trouble, it was already beyond their expectations. Being able to follow these two giants to the pinnacle of the underground capital was an eye-opening experience. In the future, they would have enough stories to boast about when encountering people from other nations.

The old men turned around obediently, their eyes filled with emotion.

On the platform, the dining table was extravagantly luxurious, far surpassing the grandeur of medieval royal banquets. The long table was filled with tableware, though it was unclear how many people it could seat.

At this moment, only Wu Tao and Mo Sihan were seated at the front, with many seats left vacant. They weren't sitting next to each other but rather in specific positions facing one another, as if the other seats already had their designated owners.

This arrangement seemed like an unspoken understanding, a rule that was meant to be. As they settled in and arranged their utensils, a rare sense of ease and joy appeared on both their faces.

Once the formalities were complete, Mo Sihan smiled and looked over at Wu Tao.

As she studied his face, a hint of nostalgia flashed in her eyes.

"Back then..."

"When our master took you in, you were just a little boy, always crying and sniffling, too timid to even lift your head. Who would have thought that so much time has passed since then?"

Hearing this, Wu Tao nodded with a smile.

"Yes, time flies like a shuttle. We understand that better than anyone."

As he spoke, his expression grew slightly more serious, a departure from his usual casual demeanor.

"Sister Han."

"I came to see you this time because I wanted to ask..."

Before he could finish, Mo Sihan had already picked up a piece of pastry with her chopsticks.

With a smile and a tone full of elder-like gentleness, she said, "Eat first."

"After we finish, I'll take you there. It's been a long time since I've seen everyone. How are the other little ones and those few doing now?"

Wu Tao was momentarily taken aback but then smiled and nodded, picking up his plate to accept the pastry.

"Alright, let's eat first."

"It's been a long time since I've had a meal with everyone too."

After taking a bite, the rich flavor lingered on his palate.

Wu Tao's eyes showed a brief moment of enjoyment before he began to speak, recounting everything in detail to Mo Sihan, who was resting her chin on her hand and listening intently.

"The brothers have been doing well. Most of them are still on Shadow Island, carrying on as usual, doing what they need to do. Master's grand plan is nearly complete."

"Except for the eldest brother, who left the earliest and seems to have reached the end of the world, the other brothers and sisters are busy with their own tasks. On the surface, some are farming, others are cooking, but in reality, they're all quietly laying their own groundwork..."

As she listened, Mo Sihan nodded with a smile, her eyes filled with warmth.

Occasionally, she would ask about specific individuals.

"What about Little Eighteen? Is he still as hot-headed as ever?"

"Ah, Brother Hong's path is like that. Self-destruction is his way of fighting. Lately, he's been blowing himself up who knows where, and it took the brothers a long time to find him..."

"Little Ten's physical body must be quite strong by now, right?"

"Yes, Brother Bai is still the same as ever. He can leap to another planet in a single jump, but he insists he can't fly."

"Hahaha..."

"Pfft..."

As they chatted about everyone they knew, the atmosphere grew increasingly relaxed. Wu Tao, carried away by the conversation, began to tease and roast his siblings, eliciting light laughter from the table. Even Mo Sihan couldn't help but chuckle.

The two of them ate and chatted like family, completely at ease.

By the end of it, Mo Sihan couldn't help but sigh, her smile tinged with a hint of melancholy.

"I often think about the days when we were all together. Those times are truly unforgettable."

Seeing Sister Han's wistful expression, Wu Tao also put down his chopsticks. Following her gaze, he looked up through the icy illusion at the endless starry sky.

He nodded slightly, his tone resolute.

"Yes, me too."

"We will return to those days, and everyone will reunite. That day is coming soon."

Hearing this, Mo Sihan collected her emotions, elegantly dabbing her fiery red lips with a corner of her napkin. When she stood up again, her usual cold and elegant demeanor had returned.

Without needing to exchange a single word, both of them stepped away from the table with determined expressions.

The atmosphere suddenly turned serious, and all sounds ceased.

Just as they were about to depart, the old men below the platform also turned their attention to them, their eyes filled with curiosity.

Mo Sihan's clear eyes swept over them, and she spoke softly.

"Since you've followed us here, and the timing is right, there are some things you should know. You may accompany us later."

"But no matter what you see, you must be mentally prepared."

Her cryptic words left the old men bewildered. If anyone else had said such things, it would have sounded like nonsense. But coming from her, it undoubtedly meant something extraordinary was about to happen...

The old men instantly grew tense, filled with apprehension about the unknown events that lay ahead.

In the blink of an eye, their minds raced with bold conjectures, as if they sensed that something monumental was about to occur.

But in the next moment, all their speculations were shattered by what they saw and experienced.

With a mere wave of Mo Sihan's hand, the nightscape around them vanished, replaced by an endless sea of stars!

The old men were stunned, unable to comprehend such a drastic change in scenery. They thought it might be some kind of illusion, but when they felt their bodies floating uncontrollably, their hearts sank.

They quickly opened their eyes wide to take in their surroundings. The massive planet before them looked familiar, and the more they stared, the more they recognized it. Their faces froze in shock...

Until the leader of the group trembled and exclaimed, "This... this is our Blue Star!?"
