Chapter 1284: Following The Clues
Northern Desert Wasteland.
Beside a small tent, Yi Feng lay on the sandy ground, resting his head on his hands as he gazed at the sky, his face filled with frustration.
"How much longer do I have to wait before someone decent shows up…"
Not far away, there were remnants of corpses. He had gained quite a bit of experience, but after waiting for so long, all that came were a bunch of weaklings, far from the experts he had hoped for. Yi Feng was starting to feel disappointed.
It seemed like he had already stirred up a big mess, and all he had to do was wait for someone to come looking for him. But no formidable figures had shown up, which made him start to wonder.
"Could it be that this so-called Fallen God Palace is full of weaklings too?"
As soon as the words left his mouth.
The sky suddenly churned with wind and clouds!
Terrifying ripples spread out like tidal waves. Two figures, glowing with dazzling light, materialized in the air, standing proudly like the sun and moon. Their cold eyes radiated an invincible aura as they indifferently scanned the ground, showing no emotion.
When they saw the remnants of corpses on the ground and then looked at Yi Feng.
The light began to fade, revealing two flawless silver-armored figures in the sky. They were almost identical in their handsome appearance, and their tone was equally cold.
"You, are you the outsider who killed these trash?"
Seeing such a question from the newcomers, Yi Feng perked up a bit and stood up.
"Yes, that's me!"
Without much thought, he knew that anyone who could come to such a place was likely a strong figure from the Fallen God Palace. Judging by the extraordinary aura of these two, he was probably right.
To avoid any misunderstandings, Yi Feng decided to confirm once more.
"Are you from the Fallen God Palace?"
As soon as he spoke, the silver-armored pretty boy on the right side of the sky lowered his gaze and looked at him coldly, crossing his arms with disdain.
"You are not qualified to inquire about our identities!"
The pretty boy on the left, however, seemed slightly more composed, though the slight upward curve of his lips betrayed his sense of superiority. He looked down and spoke indifferently.
"Under normal circumstances, you would not be worthy of meeting us brothers."
"However, today we are under the orders of the Star Lord to bring you to an audience. This is both an honor and an opportunity for you. We will make an exception this time."
"We brothers are Star Envoys of the Fallen God Palace, standing above all beings in Lan Star. We answer only to the Star Lord. Even the outer sect elders of the Fallen God Palace must bow to us when they see us!"
"Even if you have gained the Star Lord's favor, you must kneel and pay your respects when you see us!"
After this pompous speech, Yi Feng couldn't help but frown.
These two were indeed from the Fallen God Palace, judging by their arrogant demeanor, they must hold high positions. But where did they get the confidence to demand others to kneel upon meeting them?
Just when he was lamenting the lack of strong opponents, these two showed up and started acting all high and mighty.
From the looks of it, they must have some skills.
It was time for a fight!
Without waiting for them to continue their nonsense, Yi Feng decisively drew his great sword!
"Whoosh!"
With a tap of his foot, he shot into the air, and his sword was already inches away from them in an instant!
The two figures in the sky remained completely unfazed, treating this sudden attack with the same ease as if they were swatting a fly. The pretty boy on the right casually extended a hand, as if he could effortlessly grasp Yi Feng in his palm.
But the moment his hand reached out.
Suddenly!
The seemingly ordinary sword in Yi Feng's hand erupted with terrifying sword intent!
A deafening hum filled the air, and the heavens and earth seemed to tremble!
The silver-armored guard's eyes widened in shock, and he quickly extended his left hand, channeling all his cultivation power into both palms. A multi-colored protective barrier instantly enveloped his hands and then spread to cover his entire body.
It was like an impenetrable shield of heaven and earth!
But in the next instant.
With a loud "crack," the multi-colored barrier shattered, and the man's right arm was severed clean off!
Everything happened in the blink of an eye!
By the time the silver-armored guard on the left regained his senses, his brother was already howling in pain, sweat dripping like pearls, and multi-colored blood mist filled the air as his severed right arm fell to the filthy ground below.
"Hiss…"
The man gasped in shock, his eyes darting back to look behind him!
Seeing Yi Feng standing with his back to him, sword in hand, a hint of fear flashed in his eyes. Gone was the earlier hesitation, replaced by a furious roar!
"How dare you!"
"You, you actually ambushed my brother! Don't think that just because you have some cultivation, you can act recklessly! Even if the Star Lord favors you, such actions are punishable by death!"
"You…"
Before he could finish his sentence, Yi Feng turned around, and the man was instantly silenced.
Looking at Yi Feng's face and the blood-dripping sword, his heart tightened. He suddenly realized that he wasn't confident he could defeat this man.
Fear, shock, anger!
A mix of emotions tangled in his heart. This high and mighty Star Envoy, who had always looked down on others, was now in complete disarray, unable to believe that the man before him was so powerful.
Seeing the hesitation in the man's eyes, Yi Feng sighed helplessly.
"Ah…"
With a single horizontal slash, two more bodies fell to the ground.
"Thud! Thud!"
Listening to the dull thuds of the bodies hitting the ground, Yi Feng suddenly felt a sense of emptiness.
These so-called Star Envoys, who talked so big and acted so arrogantly, turned out to be nothing special. It was all just empty hype.
Is this it?
All that posturing, and for what? It's really disappointing.
Turning his gaze to the other pretty boy with the severed arm, Yi Feng smacked his lips, already losing interest.
"You brothers aren't much either. How do you have the nerve to act so high and mighty?"
The man's face alternated between pale and red, clutching his right shoulder, his eyes filled with hatred.
"You, you!"
He looked like a spoiled child who had just been wronged for the first time, both angry and scared, his heart filled with resentment, but he no longer dared to act arrogantly.
His face flushed red with frustration before he finally managed to spit out a threat.
"You have no idea how vast the heavens are!"
"With just a bit of cultivation, you dare to kill my brother! If you have any guts, let me return to the Fallen God Palace and inform the Star Lord. When the time comes, you'll regret it a thousand times over!"
Hearing this, Yi Feng wasn't the least bit surprised.
Sigh…
A spoiled child causing trouble and then running to tattle to their parents—this was the most predictable outcome.
Hearing the name "Star Lord" again, Yi Feng felt a slight sense of anticipation.
After all, that was the number one figure in Lan Star. He definitely wouldn't be as useless as these incompetent underlings. If they were to fight, it would definitely be something worth seeing.
After a moment of contemplation, Yi Feng sheathed his sword and smiled.
"Sure."
"Go ahead and report back. I'll be waiting."
Hearing this, the pretty boy's eyes widened in shock, as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"You, you're really going to let me go?"
Yi Feng waved his hand impatiently.
"Get out of here! Hurry up!"
The man finally gritted his teeth, his face filled with resentment, and with a flash, he disappeared into the distance.
Watching the direction in which the figure vanished, Yi Feng finally showed a smile of anticipation. He landed on the ground, mounted his horse, and quietly gave an order.
"Quick! Follow that guy! But don't get too close, or you'll scare him off and ruin my plans!"
The horse, Manman, shook its antenna-like head and disappeared in a flash.
Yi Feng's hair instantly slicked back, and a glint of determination shone in his eyes.
He wasn't a fool.
Letting that pretty boy go wasn't an act of sudden kindness. It was all part of the plan to follow the clues. By tracking this guy, he would definitely find the enemy's headquarters.
And when that happened, he could finally have a proper fight with that Star Lord!
Waiting around in this godforsaken place, fighting weaklings over and over—what was the point? He couldn't just wait forever, could he?
If he was going to fight, he might as well fight the strongest!
